Obama stands against slavery

President Obama took a stand against slavery and child labour recently.

The president signed in a new Act that eliminated the language of the US Tariff Act of 1930, enforcing a heavier hand to ban slave-produced goods from entering the country. Before the ban, these slave-goods were allowed in if the demand was high enough.

“If the US government works to really keep out goods made with forced labour, this change will have a profound ripple effect on supply chains worldwide,” said David Abramowitz, vice president for Humanity United.

Here’s to hoping that that ripple effect causes some tidal waves against worldwide slavery.
