Think About What You’re Writing

“Writing is thinking on paper,” says William Zinsser in his book On Writing Well. If you can think clearly, you can write clearly.

Zinsser talks about avoiding clutter in writing – clear out the clutter by not overusing adjectives and adverbs. Don’t use them as decorations. Don’t use them flippantly.

Think about what you’re writing and think clearly, then you will write well.
